OUR POLICIES

Learn about the policies and procedures associated with booking one of our spaces.

Before booking a space with Amityville Artists' Atelier, you must read and understand all of the terms on this page.

Prices and Fees

Our spaces are booked by the hour using the following prices:

Dance Room: $60 / hour (2 hours minimum)
Visual Arts Room: $40 / hour (1 hour minimum)
Music Room: $20 / hour (1 hour minimum)

A First-Time Renter’s Fee of $135 is charged the first time a new renter books. This fee is non-refundable, and if applicable, will be used towards any damage or unanticipated cleaning services required as a result of the rental. Further charges for damage may be assessed and charged if necessary.

 

Events/rentals that include food, drinks, outdoor shoes in the dance room, or other elements that require considerable cleaning require a mandatory $65 fee which includes cleaning and access to our kitchenette.

A credit card must be kept on file throughout the duration of the event, and will be automatically charged for cleaning fees or repairs for damage as a result of the rental.

Liability

Renters agree to indemnify, defend and hold Great South Bay Dance LLC dba Amityville Artists’ Atelier (“GSBDLLCdbaAAA”), its landlord, building owners, officers, employees, and agents harmless of and from any liabilities, costs, penalties, or expenses arising out of and/or resulting from the rental and use of the premises, including but not limited to, the personal guarantee of provision, service, and dispensing of payment by renter, and its employees at GSBDLLCdbaAAA. In the event GSBDLLCdbaAAA, its landlord, building owners, officers, employees and/or agents, are required to file any action in court in order to enforce any provisions of this agreement, renter agrees to pay GSBDLLCdbaAAA, its officers, landlord, building owners, employees and/or agents, all reasonable attorney fees, court fees, and costs of suit incurred by GSBDLLCdbaAAA including all collection expenses and interest due.

Kitchenette Policy

The GSBDLLCdbaAAA kitchenette is available for special events for use only by the renter and renter’s staff. The kitchenette accommodates final food presentation, plating, and bussing only. GSBDLLCdbaAAA does not provide dishes, glassware, pots, pans, or utensils. The kitchenette will be provided in a clean condition and should be returned to a clean condition following your event.

Capacity

Our spaces have the following capacities:

Dance Room: 12-15 for dance/exercise class; 40 at tables/markets/galleries
Visual Arts Room: 6-8 for class

Music Room: 2-3 for class

Site Decoration

GSBDLLCdbaAAA allows renters to prepare decorations reflecting their creative requirements. No nails, screws, staples, or penetrating items are to be used on our wall, mirrors, doors, or floors. Glitter or foil (non-paper) confetti is not allowed on site. Low tack tape is the only adhesive material permitted on our floors, mirrors, doors, and walls. Costs associated with remedying damage to our facility as a result of your event will be automatically charged to the renters credit card on file.

Conduct

Renter and guests shall use the facility in a considerate manner at all times. There is absolutely no drug use, smoking, or consumption of alcohol of any kind tolerated on premises or within 25 feet of the building. Loitering or congregating outside on the sidewalk or in the parking lot is not permitted at any time during the event. Foul language, any type of physical violence, or other conduct deemed disorderly at the sole discretion of GSBDLLCdbaAAA staff shall be grounds for immediate expulsion from the facility and conclusion of the rental period. In such cases, refunds of the event costs will not be available. All legal consequences and ramifications are the sole responsibility of the renter.

Noise and Live Music

GSBDLLCdbaAAA encourages music and lots of dancing. In the event the renter’s event creates a disturbance due to high noise volume, GSBDLLCdbaAAA staff have full authority to ask the renter, DJ, or live music presenter to turn the entertainment down and/or off. At GSBDLLCdbaAAA discretion, the offending noise will be ended or the renter may be expelled from the premises if repeated disturbances are created. In the event of disturbances to the point of expulsion, no portion of the event costs will be refunded to the renter, and the renter will be solely responsible for any fines/fees associated with noise ordinances. Loud music must end by 10 pm from Sunday-Thursday, and by 12 am from Friday- Saturday.

Cleaning, Trash, and Equipment Removal

GSBDLLCdbaAAA will be in a clean condition prior to your event. At the end of the rental time, the renter is required to return the space to the same clean condition in which it was found. All trash and recyclables must be properly bagged and removed from the premises by renter. Failure to clean or remove trash and recyclables will result in an additional $50 cleaning fee being automatically charged to the renter’s credit card on file.
 

Events/rentals that include food, drinks, outdoor shoes in the Dance/Theater Studio, or other elements that require thorough cleaning automatically require a mandatory $50 professional cleaning fee. For these events/rentals only, all trash and recyclables must be collected, properly bagged, and left inside the facility next to the door leading to the parking lot.

Entry and Exit

Renter agrees that GSBDLLCdbaAAA staff may enter and exit premises during the course of the rental at all times.  Except during exclusive rentals of the entire facility, renter also agrees that other renters will be using the facilities (Dance/Theater Studio, Visual Arts Studio, Piano Room, bathroom, hallway, parking lot, etc.) at simultaneous times.

Lost and Found

GSBDLLCdbaAAA takes no responsibility for personal possessions left on premises during or after any rental. Regardless, we maintain a lost and found, will hold recovered items up to 30 days, and will make every attempt to return any recovered item to its rightful owner.

Children's Dance Classes

In order to avoid a conflict of interest, absolutely no dance classes for children are permitted to be held in the facility without express written permission from GSBDLLCdbaAAA. At the discretion of GSBDLLCdbaAAA staff, the renter may be expelled from the premises if they conduct children’s dance classes without prior permission, and no portion of the rental costs will be refunded to the renter.

Promotions and Copyright

If GSBDLLCdbaAAA is engaged in the promotion or co-production of your event, it is required that we approve marketing messages and communications.

Expiration of Lease

GSBDLLCdbaAAA is a leaseholder within our space. All costs associated with this rental agreement will be fully refunded in the case of GSBDLLCdbaAAA’s expiration of lease or unforeseen notice to vacate.

Cancellation Policy

Full payment is required at time of booking.  Refunds are issued for cancellations 30 days or more before rental date.  Credit for future bookings are issued for cancellations 15-29 days before rental date.  No refunds or credits are issued for cancellations 14 days or less before rental date.

City, County, State, and Federal Laws

Renter agrees to comply with all applicable city, county, state, and federal laws and shall conduct no illegal act on the premises. This is a drug free, non-smoking, alcohol-free facility at all times, and there are no exceptions. GSBDLLCdbaAAA reserves the right, in its exclusive discretion, to expel anyone who is intoxicated or under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or who shall, in any manner, do or participate in any act jeopardizing the rights, use permit, or insurability of GSBDLLCdbaAAA or the safety of its staff, guests, or building contents.
